It depends on the popularity of the word or words. Some very popular words cost $10, $20, or more per click. For instance, the word "mesothelioma" is very, very expensive. (It's a disease/condition from which lawyers can get lots of money by filing law suits.)

Other words cost far less. Most are between 50 cents and $2, at least the ones I use in my advertising.

It also depends on how high up you want your ads to appear.

And it depends on the "quality" of your ad--basically, how often, when your ad appears, do people click on it.

I've tried both Google's and Yahoo's marketing products, and I prefer Yahoo's. But they're pretty similar in function and price.

That is all up to you. You decide how much you want to spend per click. You can also set a daily budget so you dont spend more than you want to in a day.
