I have a personal check I need to cash. It is drawn on Bank of America but I don't have a way of cashing it other than going to Bank of America to do so. Does anyone know what they charge to cash checks drawn on their bank if you don't have an account with them. A family member that lives out of town sent me the check so I can't just have them cash it for me. I was told it is like 10% of the amount of the check but I am really hoping that is wrong.

  1. Call Bank of America and ask them.

  2. The fee for cashing a check at Bank of America is $6. The check must be drawn on Bank of America and also you will need two forms of Identification and your thumbprint will be taken. I work for Bank of America and if you open an account they will give you a $25 bonus.

  3. If it is WRITTEN from thier bank, NO they shouldnt charge you.

I used to get payroll checks, and checks from my grandmother cashed all the time, and they jsut required an ID.
