How much does Bank of America charge to stop payment on a check?

Wondering if it's worth the risk... I am canceling an application on an apartment and want to make sure they don't cash the check.

28.00. Well let's see. If you want to talk risk. Is it better to pay 28.00 with the peice of mind that it won't be cashed or do you want to risk that over the next 6 months you could potentially have your account debited for the deposit if they accidently, or purposely cashed the check. Now if they cash it and you didn't actually sign for the apartment you have a case in getting your money back but do you want to deal with all that?
