I have a 2003 Chevy S-10 LS short bed automatic truck with only 46,500 miles on it and everything in great shape. Was wondering if anyone knows how much they would give me for my vehicle?

  1. If it is a fairly new car, they would probably give you something decent for it....They would give you more for it if you ended up trading it in on another car, though. Think of it from their point of view; they want to make some money on it, too. if you aren't going to buy a car from them, they are gonna give you less (a lot less.) My uncle works for CarMax and they really are a good company. If you aren't looking to get another car, I would try to sell it on your own, you will probably get about $7,300 (according to Kelly Blue Book, I looked it up.) That was just average though, you should do it yourself.

The only way to tell how much CarMax will give you it to take it in!

  2. You can go to Kelly Blue Book to get a value for trade or sell

    Kelly Website is : http://www.kbb.com/kbb/default.aspx?trid...

  3. Go to KBB and look up the Trade-In Value in Fair Condition.  Then subtract $3,000 from that.  I kid you not, that is exactly what it will be!

  4. Barely Anything. Back in 2005, I was trading in a 2003 BMW 325i. It had only 27,000 Miles, Mint Condition, and Originally cost around $36,000. Carmax said they would take it for $15,500, when the KBB Value was around $27,600. If I were you, I would recommend placing a private add inside your local news paper or on http://siy.cars.com/siy/index.jsp?aff=na...

    Best of Luck

  5. Find a truck like yours at carmax.  Look at the price, and then subtract $3000.

  6. Unfortunately, with the rising gas prices, websites such as KBB may not give you an accurate estimate. Carmax basically offers you what a trade in value would be on your S-10, so the only true way is to take it there.

If you do not like the number they give you, then you can try to sell it private party for a few thousand more than what they offered you. Good luck and I hope this helps.
