Hey guys,

I live in the Bay Area and i just applied for Target and i was wondering what their minimum wage is, or what their base pay is.

Does anyone happen to know?

Bay Area is in California just so you guys know if you didn't.

I thought minimum wage was like 8.00$ per hour?

I'll be looking forward to your answers!

Thanks a lot ;]

  1. my cousin works for target in georgia and in georgia the min wage is $5.25 an hour. but he says the starting wage is $8.25 an hour!!!

  2. It probably differs in what area you live in. I live in texas and I started off at $7.50 and minimum wage here is around $6.00.

  3. So far I've only worked at Target stores in the mid-west so I'm not terribly familiar with the pay scale in California.  What I can tell you is the wages for each area are based off of the cost of living and are always above minimum wage.  In my region its about $1.75 more an hour then the minimum wage for our state and I live in a moderately sized college town.  When I worked in a bigger city it was $2.00 above the minimum wage.  The best bet would be to ask during your interview for the exact rate.

  4. Pretty close, the only problem is that during training you must take a wage cut....and its legal for them to offer you less than the minimum wage of $8.25  an hour for the first 65 days as a trainee.  Other wise if you hang in there you will get the full amount.  too bad school starts soon, as you may not get the full amount if you have to go back to school and they know it.
