So my friend is trying to show me the basics, and unfortunately I dumped it twice because when it tilted to the side I couldn't hold it up. Roughly how much does a 150cc weigh? I was thinking about starting out on a 50cc scooter. Btw, I weigh about 130lbs and am 5'6". I also could not flat-foot the cycle either. More of a tiptoe deal.

  1. My Suzuki SV650 weighs about 400-450lbs if that helps. It should be lighter than 400lbs I would hope......

  2. Try a 125-250cc that you can flat foot on.  It will make a huge difference.  It's hard to stop them once they start going over.  It's a lot easier to keep them straight up when you can touch.

  3. It will likely be one of the lighter motorcycles on the road at only 150cc.  Still, the bike could weigh 250-300 lbs, or possibly more.  It depends on the style of bike.  Also, the bike's center of gravity will be a factor.  If most of the weight is up high on the bike, then you may have a harder time "righting" the bike when it begins to tip, particularly if you are on your toes rather than flat-footed.  It's a leverage issue there, if you are on your toes, then your feet (toes) are closer to the bike and you don't have the additional leverage you would normally have if you were able to spread your foot out a bit and flat-foot the bike.

  4. about 10 pounds

  5. it's alot harder to 'catch' the bike when it starts to fall if you can't use the leveage of your whole foot (i.e. flat foot) it's simple physics, the more of your 'foot' on the ground the more weight is displaced per square inch, mm or whatever measurment you chose to use.

if you can only tip toe it, that is likely why you couldn't hold it up right there... i'm willing to bet that on a nice and low 250+ you wouldn't have any problem holdin it up, or not near as much... as long as you could flat foot it.

  6. I dunnno, a little less than 300 pounds. As you learned, flat foot is important.

  7. I have a Yamaha Vino 125, it weighs about 250lbs

  8. about 210-250lbs. usually u want to tip-toe the bike rather than flat-foot, as long as u can hold it upright fine.
