  1. More information is needed to respond accurately.  What is the length of the boat  and verify the horsepower is it 10hp or is that a typo? The following is a generic response:  If it's a 10hp outboard motor on a 20ft or less boat you should have no problem towing it  with your  Ford Ranger V6.

Based on the additional information provided . your Ford Ranger will have no problem towing this boat .   My estimate is that the total rig is approximately  1500 lbs max.

  2. I tow a 17' tri-hull with a 65HP using my '88 Ranger with the 2.9 V6. It will go as far and as fast as I want. Pulls hills OK, and goes up and down the ramp just fine. I do not use overdrive while towing though.

Make sure your boat is balanced on the trailer properly though. You don't want excessive tongue weight. You should be able to lift the tongue by hand fairly easily.

Also remember, your brakes should be in good order, but you will need to pay attention. It will take longer to stop. NOt a whole lot, but just drive with caution.

  3. Your truck will have no problems with that boat.

  4. i have a 19 foot aluminum boat with a 4 cylinder inboard motor  total weight is 3200 lbs  a buddy of mine tow it with his ford ranger with a four cylinder it does fine in flat road but struggles when climbing.your truck will be fine  dont expect it will do the same when climbing a hill.
