Question:

How much does a 2-inch-tall tattoo cost?

For my birthday next month I'm getting a tattoo of the White Tree of Gondor. It'll be 2 inches tall by 1 inch wide, just an outline not filled in. Does anyone have an idea how much this might cost?

  1. My 3" by 3" tattoo cost $100, but like others have said, it varies from place to place.

However, I should also mention that I originally wanted to get the exact tattoo you're getting, also about 2" by 1", and was told that the design was way too intricate for that small a size -- the lines would blur into one big messy blob within five years. If you want the White Tree, I'd suggest either enlarging it (the place I went to suggested it be more like 6" by 3") or finding a way to simplify the design a little.

  2. The best thing for the prices guide would be for you to go into the tattoo place, and they should have a rough guide.

mine is 4 inches by 2 inched and it cost me £50, prices also range because of colours and the design

  3. Most tattooists have a set hourly amount but a tattoo that small would take 15 mins or so (at least mine the same size did).

Most will have a minimum set charge which for me was like $50 Australian.

  4. one million doll hairs.

  5. Go to your local tattoo shop and ask them , they have to see were you want to get it and how big and all that, someone can easily give you a price here on yahoo but it all depends on the tattoo artist who will be doing your tattoo!

  6. Most tattoo artists will try to work with how much you are willing to spend. Just don't make the mistake I made... a freakin' egyptian eye cost flippin' a hundred dollars because I made a HUGE mistake in telling them how much I had before asking how much they would want.

Grrr. I'm still mad at myself for that.
