How much does a Maid get paid in Lebanon?

I'm referring to Nadia's question regarding Maids, and it seemed as though they are very popular. I'm just wondering with the average yearly salary in Lebanon, how much would the Maid get paid? Thank you.

like samer said...but we also pay for the food and clothing and their visa and papers every year etc...so they get the 100-150$ per month and send it all to their family

Yes they get 100-150$ a month...considering an average family makes 500-800$ a month...for a srilanki or ethiopian that's a lot of money per month, it's like what they make in 6 months over there. Don't forget that the family has to make the papers (1000$/year) + get them whatever they need (clothes and believe me some of them like to dress better than the Mom in the family, health insurance, special food that they like...)...so it really gets down to spending  more 300$ per month on the maid (that's almost half to the family's salary).

And they don't get abused in Lebanon more than they get abused elsewhere like in the Gulf countries...it depends on the family that hosts them, so it's not that tehy get abused in Lebanon in general, that is not true. And some of the maids are horrible, they abuse the family...lol...like a few months ago, an ethiopian made grabbed the 6 year old girl of the family she works for, while she was sleeping and threw her out of the window (4rth floor) and then threw herself after her...so abuse comes from both ways...trust me, it's not easy having a maid...and coping with her personality

well when you first get a maid you pay between 1000 and 1500 $

then you pay about 100$ a month (Philippians are usually more paid 150 - 200 $ than Srilankis  and Ethiopians)

about a 1000 $ to get the papers done. All maids get about 100-130 $ except for philipino girls who get abot 200 $
