Question:

How much does a cab ride from the San Juan Luis Munoz Airport to Old San Juan cost?

I've been to San Juan many times, however I have never had to catch a cab from the airport. (I lived in PR for a little while and always had a car to drive there.) I know it isn't that far, but my Spanish is not great and I am afraid I will get the "tourist rate." Can anyone local tell me how much this should cost? Do the cabs have meters? Is there a cheaper cab company? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. hi

all taxi rates are fixed within the tourist zones. there are 5 zones covering the airport, isla verde, condad and old san juan.

the price from the airport should be $19 + luggage fee.  see the site below for full details

  2. Hop on the hotel bus to Condado for free then get on the public transportation for less then 1 dollar

  3. I  don't remmember  but  when you get thewre  go  downstairs..to the lowest level  and  find  the  Tourist taxis  stand

they have  flat rates  to  most  Tourist  spots  including  Old  San Juan, hotels  and  Malls.

  4. It should be around $20. Don't worry, everybody speaks English and just to be on the safe side, ask one of the airport workers before you leave the baggage claim area. I don't recommend public transportation at night or on your first day. You need to inform yourself from locals once you get there. Call the hotel your are staying at.

    Have fun!
