How much does a cake typically cost? Or does it vary?

I'll be 18 in Sept. (11th) and I was wondering how much a cake would cost.

It depends on size, cake, filling, design and decoration. It could be anywhere from 25 to 100 dollars. If you live where there is a Publix their cakes are awesome! If there isn't a Publix try an independent bakery. Also if you're not sure what you want set up an appt and ask to try some of the things you think you might like.

It varies. How many people there are and how elegant the cake is are the most important factors. A single slice at Raley's is 4 bucks, Charm City Cakes has a 1000$ minimum for their cakes.

well it does all depends a ice cream cake is obiviously more money depending how many flavors you have on the cake and layers really. Also if you get something written on it. ETC . . . fruits, dolls, candles...

It does depend.  Go to a top bakery and buy a custom cake and it'll cost $5 or more a slice.  Buy a sheet cake at Costco and you're looking at under $20.

Obviously, size matters.  A full sheet is going to be more expensive than a cupcake.

Best to do: go to a supermarket or a warehouse store and look at what various cakes cost.  Ask at the bakery counter how many people each cake feeds.

If you check their website, you will see they are booked well into 2010.  They make totally custom cakes and their prices reflect that and they start at $1000.  They also do not ship and do not suggest pick up if you live more than 2 hours away if the cake is complex.

Think about saving and have them do a cake for your 21st!

I f you bake it yourself you will spend about 5 dollars for a 13X9 inch cake This includes canned frosting.

If you buy the same cake at a store it will cost you between 12 and 18 dollars.

it depends on what kind of cake. what kind of frosting, size. the cheepest ones i've seen are from stores like cosco/sam's club
