  1. Pilots in Canada have to work their way up to fly for the airlines. While I'm assuming you meant airline pilots when referring to commercial pilots, the term commercial pilot means any pilot who is getting paid to fly an aircraft as a job. That means that if you're flying a small 4 seater Cessna, but getting paid for it, you're still a commercial pilot.

The highest seniority Captains at Air Canada who are flying the Boeing 777 are making over $200,000 a year. However, they have been flying for at least 30 years and have lots of experience. Check out http://www.airlinepilotcentral.info/airl... to get an idea of the different pay scales for some of the different airlines in Canada. You'll notice that although the pay for WestJet and Air Canada is quite good once a pilot has a certain amount of seniority, the pay for the lower levels of the industry is not as high as you'd expect.

For the first 5 or so years of flying when first starting out, pilots actually don't get paid very much. From the website, you'll notice that Beech 1900 First Officers for Central Mountain Air only make $22,500 for the first year. It's very tough to live on $22,500 but it can be done.

It is still possible to have a steady income without working for the major airlines. Corporate flying can pay quite well and there are lots of other options. The big thing is to gain experience to be qualified for these positions.

Being a pilot can eventually be a relatively well paying job. When you combine the pay with flight benefits and a good schedule, for some people it can be a great lifestyle. Just do lots of research before investing lots of money in your training.

It takes a lot of work to make it to the airlines and for the first few years at least, that work is low paying and usually in remote places. This is actually pretty fun as long as you go into it with your eyes open.

If you have any more questions about becoming a pilot, don't hesitate to ask.

  2. 1) Commercial , okay , pilots aren't dumb.

2)Do not do it for the money , it's more of a passion. being a pilot is not a job , it's a lifestyle.

3)Depends mostly on what aircraft you fly , C208B , or Piper Seneca.Go look up the possible  company pay chart.
