Depends on what state.  In our community in California, it's about $75,000/yr starting salary the last I heard.  I think part-time is about $50/$75 per hr for teaching a class.  For supervising a lab, I think it's either $35 or $50/hr.  That would be when no prep time is req'd & when there are no tests to grade outside of labtime.

    A community college usually requires a Master's Degree.  A 4-yr college often requires a Doctorate.  At 2-yr colleges here, teachers are called instructors.  At 4-yr colleges, they're either professors or associate professors.  Of course, those are just job titles.  Someone at a 4-yr college may be addressed as either Professor or Doctor along with the last name.  It's wise to ask the person's preference.  

    You can probably find a salary schedule for specific colleges.
