of our hospital ..........it's still cheaperrrrrrrr.....

glad they've it because there's many people

throughout the same situation you're ...

    We're talking Millionssssssssssss.

There's Over 47 million people without health

    insurance ...............And this government isn't

doing nothing to help them ......

This country is in sad situation ( USA ) .

  2. It depends greatly why you are there and what test and things are done and where in the country you live. New York City is going to be more expensive than, Odessa Texas.

Here is an actual example from 2-2008 In Northern Virginia. ER visit with chest pains.

    Hospital bill $2,013

    Insurance discount $802.03

    Balance due $1,210

If you use an FSA or an HSA this could be paid with tax free money.

Same location ER visit laceration needing 6 stitches

    Hospital bill $891.95

    Insurance discount $60.07

    Balance due $831.88

(The doctor charge alone was $541 which was within the Blue Cross allowable charge)

The other answer was correct use an urgent care type place whenever possible

  3. Just the visit, seeing a nurse practicioner, runs about $125.  If you see a doctor, $250.  Plus, any testing and medication they might give you.

  4. It will depend on a few things:

    1) what your health insurance coverage is.  Some plans charge a copay for ER visits, like $50 or $100, esp if there's an urgent care center nearby that could have been used (if it wasn't a real emergency)  If you don't have a copay, sometimes you pay a percent of the total costs, or you may have a deductible

The total costs can vary widely (depending on what they do).  Radiology work is very expensive, and sometimes the clood work is, too.  My husband had a blood test that cost us $350!

To find out specifically, go to your plan's website.  They'll have a lookup function so you can see what the costs might be.
