I need someone to teach me how to better my finances, manage my bills, and actually see a little extra bit of money at the end of each month. Are there free ones? How much are they if not?

  1. You can find reasonable hourly financial planner from Garrett Network.  http://www.garrettplanningnetwork.com/pa...

    However, I agree that in the long run you have to take responsibility for your own.  Good financial planning can't be accomplished by meeting with a planner periodically.  One has to exercise common sense and self-discipline with every financial decision.

    Best wishes.

  2. An actual financial planner will cost you money in most cases, unless you have a friend of the family who does it?

    The best thing to do is to write down in a spreadsheet where all your money goes and and how you make it, then take see what you can live without! (thats pretty much what you will pay them to do!)

  3. The least expensive thing you can do is educate yourself and add a little common sense.

    There are books out there by the score. They will, in effect, teach you how to add your income and subtract your costs. The rest will be up to you. Using tools like;

    Disipline.

    Maturity.

    Automatic savings and mutual fund drafts from your checking.

    Reading/learning investing.

    Being realistic.

    Having achievable goals.
