  1. I am not too sure about whether prices have changed or not, but I adopted a guinea pig for around $25.00-$29.99 (Petco, Petsmart).

However, please also consider adopting a guinea pig, if available, from an animal shelter. In addition to a slightly lower cost, you will also make an impact by saving an animal's life ^_^.

  2. You often can let the pet shop know that you want to adopt. Often people try to return them to the store. Also check out "the guinea pig adoption network" there may be a pig needing a home. Let your local vet know you are looking and post a card at the local shelter. We have so many guinea pigs in rescue that were raised for snake food that you will find a rescued one for almost free. Check the animal control and spca.

  3. $20-$45

  4. 20-40  but the other stuff cost a lot more

  5. The guionea pigusaually cost about 30 - 50 dollars

  6. Perhaps you should consider adopting a guinea pig. Their are many that end up in humane societies, shelters, or rescues every year. In fact, many places don't charge an adoption fee and you will be saving a life!

Try looking at your local humane society or shelter. Or you can check out www.petfinder.com or www.petharbor.com

If you were asking about the more long term cost of a guinea pig you are looking at buying bedding, high quality food, timothy hay, toys, a water bottle, a large habitat (not a cage sold at the pet store for they are extremely small and expensive), and fresh greens and vegetables for your guinea pig to eat.

I encourage you to check out www.cavysprit.com for information on building a suitable cage and other guinea pig care.

  7. in england about £20

  8. Well I work at Pet Warehouse and ours cost $30.

  9. Well, at a common pet store (not at a shelter or breeders!!!), they should cost somewhere around $30. I hope you enjoy your guinea pig!!!

  10. I went the other day to the pet store and saw the baby guinea pigs for $25. It will probably vary from 25 to 30 for most places though.

    Hope you get one =)

  11. usally around 21 -35 dollars not including tax.

    i rescued mine for 5.00

  12. in my pet shop near me they cost £10 each  but these are always babies though

  13. cheap. but the cage, food, etc. cost many many times more.

  14. like 34.99

  15. Fees vary. Do not buy from a pet store: http://www.cavyspirit.com/petstores.htm

    Adopt http://www.guinealynx.info/rescues.html

  16. usually $25-$30 but adding in cage, bedding (if you choose i use newspaper), food water bottle, food dish, housing

  17. About $30 to $40 at PetsMart, depending on where you live. But you have to include the cage, get a C&C cage, it's cheaper and better. Depending on what size you want.  Add the food (about $4), the hay ($7), the accessories like the bowl ($2), the water bottle ($4), and the chew chubes/hide house ($7 or just a shoe box), the Aspen shavings (depends on size, 4cubic feet are $12), and the vitamin C supplements (depends on what you get, about ($7). That's about $78. I hope you aren't buy them for snake food. That treatment is horribly cruel, evil, and ugly behavior to an innocent animal. Well, good luck. Guinea pigs are enjoyably cute animals and do enjoy your company once they get used to you. Good luck =D

Here are some great websites. Again, good luck! ='D
