  1. most hamsters cost no more than $15

for caging a lot of people make bin cages. At first I thought they where just being cheap and also I'm one of those people who want things that look nice. But it actually turned out to be good housing. I bought a huge bin maybe 4ft long 3ft high and 2 or 3ft deep for about $15 and hardware cloth for about $8 or if you don't want to use hardware cloth heat up a thick screwdriver and melt holes in or use a drill, or make little slits and yous those plastic slide and lock ties here's a link:

    http://www.petwebsite.com/article_read.a...

cost me in total about $20

Bedding is $15-20 for big bags.

    I use carefresh 50litres for $20

Food. I make my own with is healthier for them.

dried apples and banana cips about $4 each.

Plain cheerios and rice crispies. In this case generic is better than name brand cuz name brand is to salty or sugary.

    Total cereal.

    Uncooked pasta.

    Unsalted sunflower seed

Wild bird seed bag [optional, just for added variety.]

I paid $20 something for it all but it last for months and it's healthier.

Hamster ball is a must because hamsters love them and is good exercise as well as a wheel. Each would be about 5 dollars,

Chew sticks that's also about $5 for a big pack.

Pet igloo to sleep in the 12" one for $5

if you don't like the bin cage idea a crittetrail would be ok but there's a possibility of you hamster getting stuck in the tubing and you'd have to buy two critter ones or a critter 3 and they are only worth it if you buy the tubing with is like $15 and $20.

a commercial food is $8 for 5lbs about but not really healthy.

    so cage- $20 or $50+

    Food - $15-20

    bedding $20

    Toys $20

    total- $80 or so

  2. well, hamsters usually cost maybe from 10-20 dollars, at least around here. But you are excluding the cage, the food, toys, and other things you need to care for a hamster. Cages can be up to 40 dollars, and food might be 5-10 dollars every 2 weeks. It also depends on what type of hamster. But I'm say a maximum of $75 dollars total (including a 2-weeks supply of food) Hamsters are totally worth it. You can take them out and play with them, and they really dont eat that much. They're cute and always make for good company :)

  3. 1 Hammy = $10

    Cage = $20 - $50+

    Food and bedding $10+

    Water bottle = $10

    About a hundo!!!

  4. there a lot and a pain to take care of

  5. Hamster $30

    cage $15

  6. sorry. it really depends on the size of the cage and the store. can't help you with that broad of a question.

  7. it depends what kind of hamster but mines was 8.00 $

  8. to get everything set up will cost between $30-$60. But personally, I think they're not worth the hassle.

  9. about $30

  10. hamsters arent much of a drain on your budget!

a nice cage will be about 40 bucks?

    food for a year- 20

    bedding for a year- 20

    toys- 10

and cage accersories will be 15 bucks if not already included with the cage.

and of course, hamsters will be around 10 bucks.

    this is in candian dollars

  11. The hamster itself is probably going to range from $8-$20(depending on location, and type). Expect to pay around $50-$100 for start up(which also depends on location, and what you get).

    General Cost

    >Hamster: $12

    >10 gal tank(since this is the most popular, I'll assume you'll get this): $10-15

    >Tank Top(the screen that goes on top is usually sold separate): $10-15

    >Bedding(which will last about a month, I'll assume you get the smallest bag):$7-20(price will also depend of what kind you get)

    >Toys: $30(The more toys the more it will cost, this price would probably get you a wheel, and something to chew on and a house). Also expect to replace some toys.

    Water Bottle: $7-10

    Food:$10

  12. it really depends because there are different types of hamsters

  13. In canada...

    1.hamtser should cost less than 15 $

    2.Cages range anywhere from 20 to 60 $

    3. Bedding(aspen is the best by far) is normally under 18 $ for a big bag

4.water bottle and food dish- Some cages come with them) would intoatal cost about 15 $

5.A wheel (soetimes this will come with cage) about 8 $

    6.Food less than 17 $ for 2lb

    7.gnawing logs/gnawingtoys- 13$ or less for 2 lb

    8.Sleeping hut-less than 10 $

    9.Hamster ball-8 $

In total the starrt up cost is about 80 to 100 $

Remember, they do not need regular vet check up, so if money is tight , they are good pets. But in an emergency they can be taken to the vets.

  14. well i got mine at petland and it was about $12 but this was quite a few years ago im sure the price has gone up. and i'd gotten my cage for about $13 on sale at kmart. and food depends on where you get it. i'd say around $5 a bag

hamster cages  alone are around $30-40.

Spend a little time with the hamster you want, we found that they are not exactly the most "loving" pets for a younger girl - and ended up giving it away.

  17. $ 20 for the Hampster.  Probably another $60 for all the start-up costs.

  18. My hamster cost 8 dollars and the cage cost about 20 dollars.

  19. Depending on how elaborate you go with the cage and type of hamsters it can be anywhere from around $40 to $100 and beyond.  Please dont buy your hamsters from Petsmart or Petco, the buyers they get them from are very mean to the animals. : )

  20. It really depends on were you get it all.

  21. Here are pricings:

Hamster- $7-$15(depending on the breed & where you get it from. A rescue or shelter is much cheaper than a pet shop)

Cage-$20-$40, depending on type. You can purchase a wonderful hamster cage very cheap off of www.craigslist.org, you can also get a hamster off of there, it's a free classified ad site.

    -Accessories-about $25

    -Bedding-$10

    -Food-$7-$10

Also bedding & food is about $20-$25 a month

    Hope this helps

    Lily

  22. Try shopping on Petco or Petsmart online, you can get a price for how much it will cost to start you off. Not only that the hamster which depends where you go. At Petco you can get them for $10.00 and less, at Petsmart for $15.00 and less. (I am shopping online to get a price for my future two fancy mice and it lets you know how much money I need to save!) It is really helpful doing this.
