Reptiles require a heat lamp to bask under to thermoregulate their body temperatures.

A basic bulb can be used for heating, or you might also consider a ceramic heat lamp,  infrared bulb etc. Whatever you choose it should be wired up to a thermostat to keep it at the correct temperature.

Depending what species it is, some also require a UVA/UVB light.
