How much does a live in Nanny cost?

  1. what do you want with a goat ?----seriously,wages are to be negotiated in these circumstances along with food ,accommodation, and conditions etc.


  2. A lot. Food, board, etc. More than half your wage will go to pay for the Nanny.

    And the cost is not always monetary....my friends husband developed an affair with their Nanny.

I was a live in nanny and was paid £150 a week.  I didn't have to pay for food, a room, bills etc.  I was also told to inform the parents if I bought any food for the kids/used public transport so they could pay for that, but I never did even though I should've.  It was a 12hr day, looking after a 1-yr-old and a 3-yr-old.

    However, I knew the parents very well, and that's how I got the job (I'm not qualified).  As I said I'd do it for cheaper than them getting a real nanny.  So...maybe £200-250 a week?  I know non live-in Nanny's can be up to £10 an hour!
