well macaws are very expensive birds they can range from about 1,000-5,000 even more!they very friendly and smart bird there good a tricks and good talkers.and loving cuddly birds.they require large cages too that are expensive about  500-1,000 dollars.

Macaws can cost from $1000 to $15,000 each.  Depends on the breed you want. Then there is the cost of the cage, which for a good one that is large enough for a macaw, can cost around $700 or more.  They are not a bird for someone that has never handled larger birds before, a blue and gold can give a bite that has 1,800 psi to it (pounds per square inch).

They can be very loud and distructive, not for those who live close to neighbors.  (I have 2 of them, I KNOW !!)  They require a very large cage made with heavy guage steel.  They should not be able to touch either side when flapping their wings, and then you must allow plenty of room for lots of toys.  If you are thinking of getting a macaw, I suggest you be around it for awhile, and do plenty of research.  We have a bird rescue here, and have way too many macaws that have been mistreated because they were more than the owners bargained for.  Please read my profile.
