Take it to a reliable auctioneer company like Sothebys, or your local antique auctions.  I am betting it is worth thousands,  If it is in good shape and well kept, it will draw a very high bid.  Do not sell it until you verify the value.  In those days, some guns were made by hand and have a very high value.   The history of the gun will make it more valuable.  Is it a very low serial number ?  Was it ever fired ?  If you have the original box or cover that adds value, or the cleaning kit, ammo and paperwork to verify the sale of it and to whom ?  Pictures of the person holding it, like Grandpa or Uncle verify it's age.  Good Luck, I think you have a winner there, don't let it go so easily.
