I will be staying near the Charles de Gaulle airport. I have been told to buy one weekly carte de orange pass and then buy a separate pass for daily travel from the airport to tourist Paris.

Is that the best option?

  1. If you take the train just once from Roissy-CDG to Paris it would cost you 8.20 Euros, that's the price of last week!   Daily t'would be a bankrupt case!  the solution of Rillifane is good.  You have to know that everywhere where the metro goes, is zone 1-2...  In fact the most interesting things for a tourist in Paris are found in Zone 1-2...

Have lots of fun, and next time try to stay as close as possible to a metro station! ;-)

  2. rillafane is right. your question doesnt make much sense, but i think i might know what youre trying to ask. a stop where there are lots of tourists is, of course, trocadero, where the eiffel tower is located. it actually depends what line youre taking and which station youre starting from to know how many tickets you wil actually need.  in your case, youre starting from charles de gaulle. im looking at my map, it looks as though you might be taking Line B to trocadero. then you will get off at the Gare du Nord station and take Line 4 to Strasbourg St. Denis. from here there are no more stations that you dont have to transfer to. there are 6 stops from st. denis to trocadero. so all together, you will be going through 4 stations and you will have to use quite alot of tickets if you were to buy the regular one-use purple tickets. with the orange pass it would be more convenient as you will be using it over and over again for that one day. so, to make it short, i advise that you buy the orange ticket.

  3. No. That makes no sense. One pass all that is required.

A one day pass (Mobilis) for zones 1-5 costs 12.50 euros

A one week carte orange hebdomadaire for zones 1-5 costs 32.10 euros

One should note that the weekly pass runs for a calendar week commencing on monday and not for just any 7 day period.

As I have already noted, staying at a hotel by the airport is a VERY poor choice for a tourist.

  4. hi...I'm from France, in the area from paris. You don't have to buy all those tickets. Just buy one weekly pass (it runs from monday to sunday), zones 1-5, it costs 32.10 euros. With this pass, you can use the train, RER, the underground and the busses everywhere in Paris and it's suburb (until the 5th zone: you can get a map there in the trainstations of RATP). If you arrive at the end of the week, just buy a day-ticket (zones 1-5): it costs 12.50 euros per day, but it ends about midnight (with the last train), be careful!
