How much does a model cost?

One day (8 hours work) in new York City? Amateur or mid level.

It vaires with the models experience and demand. It can be anywhere from TFCD to very expensive.  I would recommend going to sites like one model place and model mayhem. You may even find some that work TFCD or TFP

You might be able to barter with a beginner model.  You get to take the pictures and provide a free portfolio for the model

As said, many amateurs will shoot for TFCD or TFP (Time for CD or Time for Print). Basically, it's a trade. You both get to use the pictures at no cost, except for your time and expertise.
