  1. I took the training class in Tennessee and it was less than $200.00 I then took my papers where I passed to DMV and they gave me my endoresment.

  2. If you take the course through a local vocational school, the class costs only $25. If you take the course, you will have a bike provided, but you will have to have the rest of the gear (helmet, gloves, jacket, boots, glasses). You will get this information when you sign up. When you pass the class, you will get a certificate that you can take to the license bureau (or whatever they call them in CA) and get the motorcycle endorsement. You cannot sign up for the course until you have a valid permit in hand. The learner's permit is obtained by completing a written test. Get the book from the transportation bureau, study it, then take the test- probably not on the same day you pick up the book!

You need to sign up early- when the date for sign-up arrives, you better be there first thing: the beginner's courses fill up fast.

If you choose to just take the test, you will need to bring your own bike.

  3. it cost me $235.00 in 07 it might have gone up since ,the MSF course is mandatory for anyone under the age of 18 and they supply the bike and do the testing so you don't have to do it at the DMV

  4. 250

  5. cost varies in california by county, even by city sometimes so there is no telling

step one, get your permit by taking the written test. This will tell you if you are smart enough to sit on a bike.

If you turn out to be smart enough to sit on the bike, take the MSF course. If you pass, you will not have to take the driving portion of the test at the DMV.

  6. I took the course at Ride Rite in Corona.  The cost is $250 for 21 and older, and $150 for those under 21.

To get your learner's permit, you have to pass a written test.  At the course you have to pass another written test (easy after the class session).  Then you ride.  Once you pass the course, you will receive your certificate in the mail (orange card).  Just take that to the DMV, and you won't have to take the riding course there.

There is one day of classroom that is made to be enjoyable, and two half-day riding sessions, with a test at the end.

Driver's ed will not prepare you for motorcycle riding.

The course is well worth the cost.

    Good luck, and safe riding!
