My car currently has no CD player and the radio is really crappy. What would be the cheapest price I could buy a new system and where would I go for it?

  1. the brand i recommend is jvc and the good ones are about 200 to 350

  2. You can get a decent AM FM CD for a hundred bucks. Spend a little more and you can get one with a USB jack so you can put music on a flash drive and play it instead of CDs. Some even have auxilary inputs for your iPod or other music device. Go to Circuit City, or Best Buy, and they may even install it free. You can get them cheaper, but you will probably have to install it yourself because Circuit City only does it free if it is over a hundred bucks. At least that's how it was when I got mine.

  3. you can buy them from a 100 bucks all the way up in the thousands,it just depends on what your looking for in a stereo, most good ones will cost around 2-300 for decent one, good luck.

  4. depends on what u wanna get. and it varys. 90 to 150 for just a stereo w/o speakers. if your having quality problems go to mickey shorr and they can hook you up with speakers.

I have a system that cost me 800 in total but that was w/ a subwoofer and 2 amps. that one was a bargain tho...

  5. Head units can run from $60 to $2,000.  It just depends on what you want.  And, if you're going to put in a whole system, you'll want to plan the whole thing out so as to maximize your spending.  If you know you're only going to use head unit power, make sure you buy more efficient speakers.  If you're going to run a subwoofer, make sure you've got a separate subwoofer output.  If you want to be able to play MP3s, make sure it has that capability.  Most do these days.
