OK no advice since you asked about a 7 ft

$800 to $1200 should get you a decent table. Like you pointed out with whistles and bells $K

Depends but yes I'd say stay away from anything under $1000, as a basic rule of thumb.  There are "bells and whistles" and then there are basics.  I'd personally look for a 1" slate with a wood backing, they play the best and the backing is for attaching the cloth.  If you want something that can handle abuse and use that's what you should look for, if you just want something for a few years use and then to toss it away, then you can go cheaper if you want.
