  1. As a new RN you won't see much difference in pay whether you have a ADN or a BSN.  Depends on where you live basically as to what the pay rate will be (also where you will be working)

However, you will probably be starting close to $25.00 / hr (give or take), plus extra $ for night shifts.

  2. Depends on where they live, what kind of facility they work at (hospital vs. clinic vs. home care vs. nursing home, etc.), and if they work full time or not - most do not.

Generally speaking, RNs working in a regular staff nurse position on the average probably work 24-32 hours per week and as a new graduate the starting wage is typically anywhere from $22-$35 (hospitals usually pay the higher end, and the higher end quote is also for higher paying areas of the country like the east coast or "sunshine states"). I'll let you calculate out the annual salary based on that.

An RN with a BSN, working as a staff nurse, would only make about $1 more per hour over the ASN RN.

BSN grads end up making more in the long run because they are more likely to be eligible for moving up into supervisory, mgmt, or admin positions.
