Not nearly enough for what they have to put up with.  They are among the lowest paid physicians.

If money is an over-riding concern, choose another field of specialization. Pediatricians earn less than most other specialists. There are few "big ticket" items we can bill for. Much of what we do, eg. phone calls from anxious parents, is unremunerated.

But you can earn a decent living if you don't mind hard work.
