  1. The chick above has a great answer, give her the 10. I know pilots in the corporate world making upwards of $500k to fly their bosses around, down to guys that make 300 bucks a week hauling jumpers. It's just like any other industry, the higher up on the food chain you are, the more cash you bring home

  2. In the USA it can be under $20,000/yr (most regional airlines start at around $18K/yr) to over $100K after many years. It totally depends on the specific operator, the pilots tenure and aircraft flown.

That said, according to the Air Line Pilots Association, their "average" major* airline member Captain is 50 years old, with 18 years seniority (tenure) and makes $182,000 a year. A non-major airline Captain is 41 years old with 10 years of seniority and makes $70,000 a year.

The average ALPA First Officer member at a major airline is 43 years old with 10 years of seniority and makes $121,000 per year, while an ALPA non major First Officer is age 35 with 3 years of service and makes $33,000.

To get a totally accurate figure, you would need to apply these variables affecting pilot pay:

~ Time with the company (seniority)

    ~ Aircraft flown

~ Whether they are a Captain or First Officer (seat)

~ The hours in their monthly schedule

~ The payscale at their specific airline

  3. There is so much variation. It depends on what airline, what plane, co pilot or captain, etc. Go to this website.

    http://airlinepilotcentral.com/airlines/...

Select an airline and it gives you all the information. You will see a box with different airplane types and FO (first officer AKA copilot) and captain. The hourly rates for each year or listed. For an example. Click on Alaska. You will see that you are guranteed 75 hours per month. I times that by 12 months. That's 900 hours a year. Then times that by your starting hourly salary as first officer flying a 737. $35 times 900.

You would make around $31,500 your first year as a co pilot flying for Alaska Airlines. As you can see, each year you get more.
