I was reading a news story about kegs stolen from Guinness brewery in Dublin and the article placed the value at $235,000 US, ant the quantity at 39,600 pints, which means a pint is almost $6.00! I can't believe the Irish pay that kind of price......

  1. depends where you are you can pay up to €6 for a pint in central dublin but most places average about €4

  2. €5.00 a pint in the town where I live, more expensive in Dub, especially Temple Bar!

  3. To be fair, it is the 25% larger ENGLISH pint.

  4. Its actually closer to $7.50/pint

    €5 @ €1 = $1.48

There is a lot of tax on alcohol in Ireland, its a social engineering policy to make us drink less. It has worked for cigarettes, which are now around $12/pack. But it hasn't really worked for beer!

  5. it depends on the beer but in US dollers its probably about $5-$6 same as it is in the U.S. but unlike the U.S.  you can also get a half pint which is about 2.5 euros so about $4. i dont know why you are so surprised how much do you pay for a pint of beer especially Guinness probably around $5-$6.

  6. Sounds about right. But like one of the guys said, it's a big pint and it IS Guinness!!!! I had my first pint of Guinness ever at O' Donoghue's in Dublin (15 Marrion Row) , and it was the best drinking experience of my life- worth every cent!!!!!

  7. depends on what you are drinking usually about E4.50 to E5 in Dublin but outside the pale you will find drink much cheaper than that... moral of the story drink in kilkenny accross from the brewery, best pints of smithwicks in the country for about E4.30

  8. about €5
