How much does a portable carry on air conditioner cost for a boat?

I just got a 26 foot boat yesterday and there was no air conditioner he said we can look around for them but some maybe expensive, does anyone know where I can find one?

  1. Want the cheap way out? Check out this group and their $40 a/c unit. It's a 12 volt unit that works with a cooler...

    can't tell ya' how well it works but if cost is a major factor...

    If you have a shore power hookup you can have one installed new for about $5,000 that will handle the cabin but if a generator is needed add about another $10,000 to it. We had friends install both on their boat last year (25' Cuddy) and that's what it cost them here in the DC area.
