  1. I can tell you the rates in USA .. in big cities typically it is 8$ an hour and for full day for  toddlers (16  to 33 months) it is around 960$ per month and for preschool (33 months to 6 years) it is 860$ per month while in small cities it is around 600$ per month too... hope this helps

  2. There is really no way to tell you the information you are asking.  Not only does cost vary from state to state, it also varies depending upon the size of the daycare and how reputable the daycare is.

I would recommend you call around to a variety of local daycares in your area or speak to other parents that have their children in daycares.  This will give you the best idea of how much is the average.  I wouldn't recommend going with the highest costing daycare or the lowest.  Usually sticking in the middle will get you the best environment for your child per dollar.

  3. You don't say where you are, so it's quite difficult to answer your question. However, I'd say the cost depends where you are e.g. major cities will charge a premium but rural areas are usually more reasonable. We are in rural Scotland so I can give you some examples of what we pay as I too have a 2 y-o and 4 y-o.

My son aged 4 has a free nursery place - 5 x 2 1/2 hour sessions per week, but if he was to go full-time at a private nursery (as he did until recently) it would cost about £250 per week.

My 2 y-o son attends a free creche once a week for 2 hours. Both boys also eligible to attend our village playgroup which costs £4 per 2 1/2 session. A nursery would charge about the same for a 2 y-o, maybe slightly more (staff/child ratios are higher the younger the child, therefore higher the cost). Childminders for this age group in our village charge approx £2.50 per child per hour. Nannies charge anything from £7.50 per hour plus NI, PAYE etc. Au pairs live as part of your family, so you give them board and lodgings and £2.50 per hour pocket money, but cover all their expenses. For nannies/au pairs hourly rates are same regardless of how many children they are caring for (within reason!) Hope that answers your question.

  4. A decent preschool can run between 400 and 500 a month. This is for full time care, meaning five days a week all day care. Scale down from there of course!

  5. We pay $800 per month, but we know this is much higher than average (and we're VERY happy with the school, the teachers and the results. We're getting what we're paying for)

  6. Depending on where you live....prices vary. Also keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I own and operate a centre (100 kids). I charge $42/day for 4-6 years and $39/day for pre (2.5-4 years) The younger the child, the more expensive b/c we require more staff (licenced facility). The fee includes lunch and snacks as well.

Trust me...if you're not happy with your nanny (I was in the exact same position)....enroll your children to a good daycare and invest in a european cleaning lady that'll clean and do your laundry once a week (cash). I put a small ad up on local mailboxes and our local italian bakery and found someone good in a week. Life has been much better for everyone (especially the kids (ages 1 & 5).

Good luck! If you need any help (daycare questions, wording for cleaning lady) feel free to e-mail me.

    Laura

  7. It varies by state, but most go by $400 for one and $550 for two. If there are siblings, you always get a better deal. Btw for that price the terms are full time and licensed, not a home daycare.
