  1. well it depends on the club and the pro because if the club is nice they'll be more expensive, and it depends on the pro because if they're the head pro (top dude) then their lessons wil be more expensive than the others (probably)

  2. The cost of private lessons varies on the type of club, courts, state/city, time of day and experience of teaching professional.

Example:  A top-notch teaching professional certified to teach by USTA at a country club charges about $60-120/hour; the club gets a % of the fees.  If you are a club member with court privileges, that fee may be lowered.  If you want prime time for your lesson, you may pay more.  Some pros are willing to lower fees for early mornings or later afternoon lessons because they aren't busy at  those times and would rather fill up their schedules.  Some clubs add court fees on top of the private lessons -- after all, you may be on prime clay, hard or grass courts kept in perfect conditions, not to mention the ice water and towels kept by attendants.

Compare to this:  A tennis coach who happens to run a tennis program for a town's recreation department may be just as qualified but may charge less because he is teaching on the high school courts (paid for by the town's taxes) or park courts (again, paid by taxes).  This type of pro may collect a salary from the town and have permission to give private students on the side.  Sometimes, you will be writing your check directly to his/her personal account.  These arrangements can run between $35 - 60 an hour.

In general, the higher the pro got while touring, the more you will pay for the lessons.  Remember, not all good tennis players end up becoming good coaches.  Good coaches are often those who are managing directors of the tennis club with many years experience coaching individuals and teams to championships.  High school coaches run the gamut but sometimes you can find a great coach who can and has led teams to championships consistently.

Last but not least:  Not all players need top notch coaching to learn and improve.  A beginner can learn about as much as he can handle from a less experienced teaching pro who is on staff at a tennis club.  The extra finesse game learning offered by a top-notch coach may be wasted on a new player who is  just happy to hit several types of shots.

Try to match your level of play with the coaching appropriate for your level.

  3. It sounds u r at entry level. Check out "Meetup" in your location and probably you are able to find a free partner.

  4. Yeah, top instructors are in the 100s, but you can get someone good for less. One dude that was a great instructor cost me about 40 a lesson. Maybe he took himself for granted, because he could have charged more -all so, then I wouldn't be able to get lessons if he did!

  5. i took lessons from high school coaches

    65+ ;.;

  6. mine r like $65 per hour

  7. At country clubs and resorts it can cost over $100 an hour to train with an in-demand pro.

At the YMCA and colleges it can cost virtually nothing for private tennis instruction with an inexperienced instructor.

You should call Gold's and ask them what the rates are, as well as what the instructor's background is.

  8. My tennis club is called Murrieta Tennis Club. This charges $50-$60. This price is for a one hour lesson.

  9. depending on location and skill of the profesor and if he works alone.

    $30/hr. - $100/hr.

  10. I took a community college class that cost me 43 bucks for a whole semester.  It was an advanced tennis class and it ran for 3 hours, once a week, for 15 weeks.  The instructor used to be a 6.0 player, that also played some ATP doubles.  The class was great.  I'm a 3.5 player, and I hope to take the class as many times as I can.

  11. deppends usualy you can get them between :

    £20 - £60 (English pounds!)  _ $55 - $100 (Dollars!)

  12. It depends. If this is an elite club, it would usually cost about $50 an hour. If this is more of a general less fancy club, it would cost about $30-$35. The more elite clubs definatly have better quality coaching in my opinion, but if you just getting started, any coach would be fine.

  13. Depends how good he is.  And depends where you live. I'd say a minimum of 100 bux an hour is the price for a decent coach. There's one guy who's excellent, but my friend and I can't really afford him, so we're going to go in on lessons w him together. He's THAT good, and its worth it, but we'll only get one or two lessons, after that he's too pricey.

I always say this, and I am adament about it, because a bad instructor can s***w up your game.  So, CHECK HIS or her REFERENCES - make sure they are officially rated USTA and it should be a rating of 4.5 at the very least. Preferrably 5.  You want to ask different people at the club, who's the absolute best, what's their rating. Stuff like that.

  14. It really depends if the coach has lots of certificates and has passed lots of exams.  If they have then they will be more expensive, probaby from 50-55 dollars.   Coaches with less certificates won't cost as much.

  15. Usually $40 to $50 an hour for personal lessons but you can save quite a bit on group sessions with 3 or 4 others. It's up to you but make sure you get a coach you get on with.

  16. if you get trained by USTA trainers, they will charge min $50
