  1. Food and especially drinks are expensive in Paris.  A beer is usually about 5 Euros, a glass of pop anywhere from 2 to 5 Euros.  When we go for lunch for three of us the bills is around 50 Euros.  Bear in mind the exchange and you're looking at about 25.00 US per person with the meal and drink.

  2. - snack (sandwich + beverage + fruit or pastrie) = 8€

    - regular restaurant = 15-20€

    - good restaurant ) = 30€

    - hight standard restaurant = more than 50€

  3. Not many places offer a subscription for regular meals. About the nearest I can think of is the university canteens (called Resto U) or school canteens, where you pay per trimester or per month. But that will not really apply to you.

Most hotels also have restaurants. Check whether your hotel provides a full board option (called "pension complet" in French), where they provide all the meals.

Otherwise, you can just simply go to the same restaurant every day. Quite why you should want that is beyond me. There is such a huge variety in Paris and it's nice to try different places.

  4. depends on the place you go to

as like in here a fast food place is much cheaper than a 5 star restaurant

  5. As (almost) everyone has said, it depends on where you go. I work in central Paris (rue Montmartre in the "Bourse" district) and my employer gives the staff vouchers worth 8 euros. I usually manage to eat within this limit, or maybe add one or two euros.

The range is from 4 euros (which I don't often use, because they don't give change on the luncheon vouchers) to about 15 when I want to blow out.

    The range is as follows:

4.50 euros - a Turkish or doner sandwich, including fries. These are very substantial indeed and are very good value. Add another 1.50 euros for a drink and skip desert (you wouldn't be able to eat one anyway).

Hot dish of the day in Turkish bar  6-8 euros

Dish of the day in a "Chinese fast-food", about 6 euros. A Chinese fast food is not the same as a Chinese restaurant - you stand in line with and choose your food which is then microwaved. Three course meal in the same places costs 8-10 euros. There are also a couple of "all you can eat" Chinese in the rue Montmartre for about 12 euros.

When I am meeting friends for lunch and have the time I have a French meal in the very much more up-market Le Croissant (next door to my office) for around 20 euros a head.

Meals in the evening are more expensive.

    Bon apetit

  6. It depends on the neighborhood, and your definition of a "regular meal". It also depends on whether you're talking about doing food shopping and cooking for yourself, or going to restaurants. I used to live near Marcadet-Poissonniers métro station in the 18th arrondissement, and it was an inexpensive area. Cheap places to go food shopping included Ed l'Epicier (ED for short), Leader Price, Intermarché, Champion, etc. As for restaurants, that neighborhood had plenty of places to get merguez with fries/chips, and of course some more upscale places as well. Google can provide a lot of detailed information however: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=aff...
