How much does a sales assistant / Shop Assistant get paid?

Nice I just found out where I live (Just outside the UK On a Ireland) **I don't want to say where** well the Minimum wage is: A worker who has attained school leaving age but not 17 - £4.67.

it depends on the shop...some pay better than the average...very often it's minimum wage which is 5.52 per hour at the moment i think...rising to 5.73 or 5.78 in October.
