those are called "sport" bikes...

you can getr a decent used one for around $3,000

new ones run between 8,000 and 12,0000 usually

If you want to race it, get at least a 1000cc. Kawasaki makes 13 and 1400's which will kill anything (stock) So go buy a R1 and put some mods on it. Around 6,000 for a good one. 3000 for a piece of $#%!
