  1. Get paid for what?  Every procedure is different, and every insurance company is different.  Most surgeons bill insurance companies directly for their services.  Few surgeons are salaried.

    To know what the take-home pay for a given surgeon is, you'd need to know what procedures s/he did, what insurances those patients had, whether or not they paid their deductibles and copayments, and then subtract the surgeon's expenses (office rent and staff, malpractice premiums, supplies, etc.).


  2. the mean is 245,000  a year but this can change depending on the location , this for USA for other countries can be more or considerably less , other factors will be hospital association and or independent practice.
