I was just wondering how much it would hurt to get a tattoo on your lower hip area and on your finger. I hear that if you just take some ibuprofen it doesn't hurt that bad. Also i was wondering about tattoos fading, like how long does it take to fade and why does it fade, also prevention would be awesome! thanks

  1. how much a tattoo hurts depends on the area you get it in, because of the nerves and lack of fat in certain places. you are not supposed to take any medication like ibuprofen or Advil because it can thin your blood or make you lightheaded which could lead to fainting. As to the fading of tattoos, they fade when they are emitted into the sun and with time. if you get it in a place that will always be showing it will fade faster than one that rarely sees the sun. If you happen to go in the sun then put sunscreen on it, with a HIGH spf/ubv rating.

    "Protection from the sun

After your tattoo is healed, from now on, you will always want to protect it from the sun's ultraviolet rays. These can fade and damage a brilliant tattoo very fast. Before spending a lot of time in excessive heat, protect your tattoo with a minimum 30SPF sunblock. This will keep your tattoo vibrant for many years, and it will continue to be a source of great pride."

  2. Asiprin only hurts AFTER the face, at least for me.

My first one faded, only because I didn't take good care of it. I didn't put the lotion on, I was in the sun a lot... etc. My second one is beautiful, and my first one has been retouched TWO times and looks good.

I got my first one when I was 19, and noticed the fading probably about a year later. It only faded on the black parts (I had a cats face)

  3. Tattoos don't hurt too bad. I can take a lot of pain so when i got my tattoos i actually felt them to be a little relaxing. It is kind of like someone scratching you wen u have really bad sunburn. Certain parts of the body will fade. Places were there is lots of movement and places exposed to a lot of sun. Just use the lotion and follow the aftercare tips and you will be alright.

  4. They always hurt but pain relivers make it not so much. Tatoos fade on certain skin types you would need to add and tell me your skin type. The nearer to your back the more it hurts but, not arms very much.

  5. Tattoos will hurt no matter where you get them on your body or whether or not you take ibuprofen beforehand.  It might help to take it, but I never have (I have 3, one on my side, one on my upper back, and one on my ankle/foot).  I don't have one on my hip, but my best friend does and she says they're the worst (she has two on her hips, one on her leg, one on her wrist, and one on her shoulder-blade).    All tattoos will fade over time.  A tattoo is basically a colored scar.  Scars fade so tattoos will too.  You can try to prolong this from happening by keeping it out of the sun.

  6. I hear that if a tatto has a lot of small details and color, it will hurt more than something thats basic. Like a smaller tattoo hurts more than a big one, because of how close everything is. Color ones hurt more too.
