  1. Assistants make less than the director obviously.  You would make about $8.00-$8.50 with schooling and you might get a raise depending on where you want to go.  Good luck!

  2. It depends!

  3. As a teacher you will be underpaid ann subject to pressure from parents and school administrators. Depending on where you live, teaching jobs are hard to find. Teachers are bing laid off in Cleveland and Lorain Ohio, Vegas can't find enough. Do yo want to work in a city school system with drugged out parents and kids with knives ?

If you have the ability to earn a 4-year degree, do not go into education.

Money may not seem like a big deal right now, but when you get ready to buy a house, send your kids to college, or retire you might regret education as a career.

    God Bless and Keep You.

  4. It depends on the state and the degree that you have. Get as much education as possible and ask others in the field in your area. I think with any teaching job you have to believe in what you are doing and enjoy watching the growth throughout the year in the students. Good luck!

  5. Depends where you are located and what position in the centre you hold. In my area, Durham, Ontario our centre pays quite well.  However, it is a lot lower then my previous area in York Region, ON. So it all depends.

Supervisors make over $16/hour and require a degree, plus  diploma in Early Childhood Education and at least 2 years experience. Asst. Supervisr requires a diploma and 2 years experience and makes $13.60, ECE's make $12.50, Assistants make $11.45, cooks and cleaners make $11.45.

We get $40 in RRSP contributions a month, Christmas Bonuses, 2 weeks off paid at Christmas, 2 weeks vacation, 8 personal days a year.

It also depends on wether you work for a profit/non profit childcare and whether you are unionized or not.
