It really depends on the level of your game. If you are playing on the high school team it is worth it to invest around $150 to $200 per racquet.  Whatever amount you decide to pay make sure you buy it somewhere you try it out first so you know what to expect when you head to the court.

high school tennis play requires precision and power. Most rackets nowadays can sell from 30-280+ dollars. I'd recommend  buying a racket in the 100-200 dollar region, but if you don't think you can afford it, I found that HEAD rackets are good for beginners.

you can get some good rackets at around 70-100 dollars as well. the better ones do start around 100 though. the other guy is pricing the ones for more serious players so i wouldn't spend that much if i were just starting out.

A decent racket usually costs around $100.  There are rackets that cost up to $250.  If you are just starting out, a $100 racket is a good starter.  Good luck :)
