  1. The regular ticket (2nd class) costs 115 Euro and the trip takes about 6 hrs. If you travel on the weekend it costs only 30 Euro, but due to the fact that you have to take only local trains the trip will take more than 12 hrs.

    If you happen to be in Germany during the soccer championship, you can buy a return ticket for 90 Euro.

  3. Go to www.bahn.de and click on International Guests on the top. I know that the German railroad system has some special deals, e.g. on weekends or for groups. Sometimes when there are events going on in the city of arrival they will post deals for that online as well. With the soccer World Championships, they might have even more deals. Just check it out.
