Question:

How much does a typical UPS driver earn?

Someone I work with says they have a friend who is a UPS driver in Maine and is making $70,000 per year. I don't know any drivers personally to ask them but this seems like way too high of a salary for a UPS driver in Maine. He is in his mid-20's so experience isn't the reason. Does anyone know any UPS drivers that could confirm or deny this salary?

  1. The pay scale increases throughout the first two years, after the second year of driving the driver will be at "top rate". This is why even at a young age your friend can make that much, it's not so much about experience, but after two years of seniority the pay scale is maxed out.

I have talked to many full time drivers and they say they take in about $60,000-75,000 per year with overtime.

  2. they can make that much with overtime
