  1. I would guess a 10000 BTU that is rated 9.8 EER would add about $25.00 to your monthly bill.  This should be a good ball park figure.

  3. It depends on it's size and how much actual time it spends actively cooling, plus how much your electric rate is.

    If you look on the unit it should tell you how many amps it draws. Multiply that times 110 to get the watts used. this gives you a measure of how much energy is being used.

    Energy is typically sold in Kilowatt/hours. that is equivalent to 1000 Watts used for 1 hour. So if you air conditioner is rated at 20 A(mps) 20 *110 (unless it is 220) * 24 (if it truly runs all day) = 528000 or 528 Kilowatt/hours or KWH. Now look on your power bill and see what you pay for 1 KWH and multiply it out. That's the cost for 1 day...
