Question:

How much does a vacation to Vietnam Cost?

I plan on going to Vietnam for about 16 days this May. I've already looked into Plane Tickets (they'll be about $1400), but I'm trying to figure out how much more cash I'll need.

I'm planning on having fun there and enjoying myself (i.e. a vacation), not a "backpacking" trip or what not.

So I suppose what I'd like to ask is, how much would staying at a decent hotel (Nice rooms, AC, TV, Internet, Pool, nothin extravagant like Waldorf Astoria) and eating at mostly nice restaurants cost?

I'm trying to do reserach myself too, just looking for an outside oppinion (preferably from someone who has visited there before).

Thank you :)

  2. Hi,

I've been to Vietnam 5 times recently. Not counting in-country transportation and souvenirs, you should get by on $40 - $50 a day.  If you're a little more spartan (like me) in your accommodations cut that to $20-$25 a day.  Tourist hotels runs $8 - $20 a nite depending on location.  Meals: $10 - $20 a day.

A plane ticket from Saigon to Hanoi - $100, Hanoi to Danang $50.  Open Tour Bus from Saigon to Hanoi  - $30.00  Train tickets run about 1/2 airfare.

    Good Luck!
