How much does a vesectomy cost?

We have insurance and they pay half of it. We were wondering how much it would cost so we can estimate what we would be responsible for. I'm in the Detroit area and we'd get it done at a hospital or doctors office not planned parenthood or anything like that.

You really need to call around and see.  A well equipped urologist should be able to do it in his office so the price will be less that having it in an outpatient surgery center. Also prices can be different from center to center, but most Dr's charge about the same amount. I can't tell you a price but I do know it is cheaper than a tubal.

Depending on the doctor and on the type of vasectomy (there are several different types), the type of anesthesia and whether he needs any additional tests or not, it ranges between $400 and $2000. The average is 750-800. I live in Chicago. I assume it would probably be about the same in MI.
