I got a pet hamster 3 days ago and yesterday I noticed that my pet has a bald spot on top of his nose I wanted to take it to the vet for a checkup but my mom said taking it to the vet cost to much which means she won't go to the vet.

(I want to make sure how much does the vet cost for a hamster)

  1. It depends.

Since you can only take hamsters to exotics vets, the cost will probably be high. It's difficult to find medications and treatments for animals so small like hamsters and guinea pigs.

When we took my guinea pigs in for a checkup, it was about 40 or 50 dollars.

  2. well it depends on where you go to get the check up. Like, I go to AllPet veteranary clinic and i take my rabbit there. It normally costs around $48.00 for a regular checkup.

  3. some regular vets  see hamsters too, not just exotics.  I pay $52 for an office visit, just like any other pet. I live in Va. Sometimes they wear their hair off rubbing the bars on the cage.  If she ever appears to be sick, lethargic, can't breathe right, see a vet.

  4. i took mine to vet, and it cost $30. we had to put her to sleep! :(

    R.I.P tinkerbell.

  5. It depends on the vet.  You don't always have to go to a vet that specializes in exotic pets.  Some regular veterinarians will look at your hamster.  You could call your vet and ask him or look in the phone book and give a few people a call.

It's hard to say what the cost is.  If it's just to look at something on his face the charge may not be that much.  It can't hurt to call a vet office, tell them the problem, and ask how much it might be.  It could be anywhere from $20 to $50 if that.

It may just be from a fight your hamster had but if it is an infection it's best to get him checked sooner rather than later.

  6. I recently took mine to the vet for a fractured rib. It cost me £15 (about $30). However, in England, you don't have to take them to a specific type of vet.

  7. I don't think it costs much. Tell your mom it could be fatal, bald spots are VERY VERY bad. You can look up her illness (if she has one) on the site.

    Show her the siteVV

    Good Luck!

  8. Over 15$. Don't go unless he seems uncomfortable or not eating..like not himself. You just cot him so don'tworry.
