well the one i have cost $500.00 dollars at sears wit tax lik $623.12 and i bout this one like 7 years ago but i think they cost more or less!?

An entry level MiniDV camcorder from a good manufacturer such as Canon, Sony, Panasonic or JVC would be around $250.

A decent new one is about $1,000.  The longer a model has been out the lower it goes in price.  You could probably get a good used one on Ebay for a few hundred dollars that someone is getting rid of because they upgraded.
