  2. In my city, usually around minimum wage or just slightly above (a $1 more maybe) and tips...  Tips is what makes it worth the while..

  4. Here in New England, they get Servers' minimum wage (which is a little more than two bucks an hour) plus tips. Depending on how many hours you mean by "part time" - whether 10 or 32, 4-hour shifts or 10-hour shifts, there is a huge difference - as well as what shifts you work, how busy the restaurant is, and how good you are, you can make $200 a night in tips. More likely you will make less than a hundred a night. The key to great tips is "upselling" - getting the guests to add appetizers, alcoholic beverages, desserts, etc.
