  1. sorry but will need to do this yourself

    go to www.payscale.com

and put in your city, state etc

when it comes to your employer just put in a hospital near you

it will ask your pay, just put in like 30.00 an hour

at the end it will show you the low-high range in your area

depends on where you work also,  hospital's typically pay more

  2. in most jobs the same..............

the difference comes in when you look at future growth, continuing education as well as requirements for some positions.

with a BSN there are more management opportunities which may pay more as well as masters programs such as nurse practitioner or nurse mid-wife which require a BSN  to get into.

    EDIT:

    RN in NYC

bottom 10% average wage $54,000.00 year

top 10% average wage $101,000.00 year

  3. At my husband's current job when he got his BSN his pay grade rose by $2 per hour.  But as an ADN he was making way more than the $30/hour the previous answerer stated.  The big salary jump is from BSN to MSN - you might as well go all the way if you are going!  Starting pay for an ADN is around $18/hour here; my husband has experience and a management position.

  4. It completely depends on where you live. I live in NY, and I make $60K a year as an RN with a BSN ($30/hr). I only make $1 more an hour than my ADN RN colleagues though. But the hope is that with the BSN I can move up to administration at some point.

I think you should get the bachelor's degree b/c that way if you decide you hate nursing, then at least you have a degree and will have more job opportunities. I hate hospital nursing and I'm trying to get a job in a doctors office instead, which will pay a lot less but won't be as horrible hopefully!
