How much does an acre of farm land in kansas cost?

That would depend on where that acre of farmland was at specifically in kansas.  There are many variables involved such as what crops the land is best suited for, locallity, rainfall ect.  Also in many parts of kansas you must now figure in recreational value of the property, ie. does it have good potential for hunting.  All that said it could range anywhere from $500 up to $1500 on average.

From my experiences, you can find it as cheap as $37 an acre (I'm guess that is some crappy, dried up Western Kansas land though) or up in the $2000-4000 range in areas closer to Wichita or KC.  I think the average though is probably about $500-800/acre.

Depends on which part of the state you are looking in. I used to live in southwest Kansas. Dryland farmland would run from $300 to $800/acre. Irrigated farmland would be quite a bit more depending on how much water it had under it, but between $1200 and $1800/acre. Also depends if you buy the mineral rights with the surface rights.

While real estate prices may be slumping, the price of farm land in the Mid West is climbing to an all time high.  Thanks to the production of ethanol, farm land prices are up about 40% from this time 2 years ago.
